  • History buffs will want to visit the Museum and Visitor Center of the Bastrop County Historical Society, located at 904 Main Street in the old City Hall/Fire Station/Jail.

March Pedal Through the Pines A series of bicycle rides make loops through Bastrop State Park and the scenic countryside. Sag wagons provide support for this all ages event.
April Bastrop Yesterfest Last weekend. This annual event celebrates Bastrop's colorful history with music and dance, pioneer skills demonstrations, "shoot-outs", cowboy roping, saloon girls and arts & crafts vendors along Main Street.
June Heart of Texas Green Expo Second weekend. Bastrop hosts this two-day event to educate and energize attendees fromm across Texas to develop communities that are economically viable and ecologically sound.
June Bastrop Juneteenth Join us on the third Saturday to honor the emancipation of slaves in Texas. The celebration includes a parade, picnics and dances.
July Bastrop Pet & Pal Parade Perhaps the most unique parade in Bastrop County, pets of all types dressed in patriotic colors have the opportunity to strut down Main Street on the first Saturday in July.
July Bastrop Patriotic Festival First Saturday. The afternon begins with children's activities, picnics and food booths in Fisherman's Park. The day ends with a fireworks display and music by the Austin Symphonic Band.
August Bastrop Homecoming and Rodeo First weekend at Mayfest Park. Join the fun at Bastrop'a biggest annual party as classmates return for reunions plus a parade on Main Street, a rip-snorting rodeo, carnival rides and dancing 'til the wee hours.
October Bastrop Halloweenfest Halloween Night. Bring the family downtown for lots of tricks and treats plus costume and lip-sync contests, pumpkin carving and a spook house that is sure to thrill the whole family!
November Bastrop Veteran's Weekend Classic Car Show Second weekend. Friday night starts out with a drive-iin movie at Fisherman's Park. Veterans are honored with a special tribute Saturday. Hundreds of classic cars line the streets downtown, along with local vendors selling food and handmade items.
November Harvest Arts Festival Weekend before Thanksgiving. Handmade art from local artists and fresh produce from local farmers.
December Lost Pines Christmas Second weekend. bastrop welcomes families to experience the holidays in a historic Texas town. More than 30 family-friendly holiday activities mark the four-day weekend.
December Bastrop Holiday Homes Tour Second Saturday. Tours of homes and historic buildings give visitors a unique glimpse of Bastrop's history as docents point out highlights.
December 'Christmas in the Pines' Lighted Parade and Street Market Second Saturday. Vendors market their holiday wares along Main and Pine Streets. The fun-filled day ends with a brightly-lit parade at nightfall.
November-December Bastrop's River of Lights Extends daily from the day after Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve. Stroll along the June Hill Pape Riverwalk along the Colorado River to see over 100 holiday displays.
April-December Bastrop Pine Street Market Days Second Saturday of each month. Vendors and craftsmen set up booths on Pine Street to market their wares.
Monthly Bastrop First Friday Art Walk First Friday of each month. An eveninng of art, music, shopping andd diing in historic downtown Bastrop.
