Bastrop Pedal Through the Pines
A series of bicycle rides make loops through Bastrop State Park and the scenic country-side. Sag wagons provide support for this all-ages event.
Smithville Thunder on the Colorado Motorcycle Rally
Third weekend. Motorcyclists meet at Riverbend Park, parade through downtown Smithville and return to the park to enjoy food, contests and live music.
April
Smithville Jamboree
First weekend after Easter. This four-day clebration - the towns oldest and largest - includes a Main Street parade and arts and crafts vendors. Riverbend Park is host to a carnival, livestock show, sports tournaments, food and nightly dances.
Bastrop Yesterfest
Last Saturday. This annual event clebrates Bastrop's colorful history with music and dance, pioneer skills demonstations, "shoot-outs", cowboy roping, carriage rides, a petting zoo and children's games.

Smithville Fly In
Hundreds of small planes land at the Smithville Municipal Airport to celebrate aviation and the adventuresome spirit of pilots with a delicious pancake breakfast, contests and demonstrations at the county's only airport.
June
Smithville Swing Golf Tournament
Area Golf Clubs in Bastrop including Colo Vista and Pine Forest serve as hosts for this event.
Juneteenth
Saturday nearest June 19. Honors the emancipation of slaves in Texas with a celebration that includes a parade, Picnics and dances in Bastrop, Elgin, Smithville, and other small towns throughout the region.
Elgin Western Days Festival
Fourth weekend. Activities include a parade, a carnival sports tournaments, arts and crafts, live music and varied children's activities.
July
Bastrop Pet and Pal Parade
Perhaps the most unique parade in Bastrop County, pets of all types dressed in patriotic colors have the opportunity to strut down Main Street on the first Saturday of July.
Bastrop Patriotic Festival
First Friday or Saturday. The afternoon begins with children's activities, picnics and food booths in Fisherman's Park. The day ends with a firworks display and music by the Austin Symphonic Band.
Elgin 4th of July People's Parade and Celebration
This annual event features a walking parade and a variety of activities in historic downtown Elgin, concluding at Veteran's Memorial Park.
Smithville Casino Night
Fourth Saturday. The gambling action is hotter that the July temperatures outside as Smithville's Recreation Center is transformed into a Vegas-style venue. Its a sure bet this fundraiser will be entertaining!
August
Bastrop Homecoming and Rodeo
First weekend at Mayfest Park. Join the fun at Bastrop's biggest annual party as classmates return for reunions plus a parade on Main Street, a rip-snorting rodeo, carnival rides and dancing 'til the wee hours.
October
Smithville City Wide Garage Sale
What a draw - over 100 sites to shop on one day!
Elgin Sausage Stampede
Second Saturday. This lively event includes a 5k run/walk routed through the historic district of Elgin plus a 1K kid's run/walk.
Bastrop Nature Fest
Third Saturday. Celebrate our river at this annual event at Fisherman's Park near downtown. Attendees learn about nature and wildlife plus enjoy food and music or paddling the three designated river trails.
Camp Swift Oktoberfest and Volksmarch
Mid October. Bring the family for a full day of fun including a 5k and 10k Volksmarch plus dramatic reenactments of major war events. There are also demonstrations of military excercises. Enjoy food and music with lots of acitvities designed especially for children.
Elgin Hogeye Festival
The "Suasage Capitol of Texas" celebrates sausage and all things porcine in this annual, fun-filled event. "Warm Hearts and Hot Guts" are featured themes with the crowning of King Hog or the Sowpreme Queen. The famous Sowpremes are featured with many other live bands and a viriety of arts and crafts.
Bastrop Halloweenfest.
Halloween night. Bring the family for lots of tricks and treats plus costume contests, pumpkin carving and a spook house thai is sure to thrill the whole family!
November
Bastrop Veteran's Day Celebration and Classic Car Show
Second Saturday. Veterans are honored with a special tribute. Hundreds of classic cars line the streets downtown, along with local vendors selling food and handmade items. On Sunday, the Rotary Club of Bastrop County sponsors a Road Rally.
December
Smithville Festival of Lights
First Saturday. A Gingerbread Man theme with light deck out this picturesque downtown plus ther are arts and crafts shows, a 5k run, kids' games and crafts, live music, a lighted parade plus a street dance!
Elgin Holiday by the Tracks
First Saturday. Before or after cutting your Christmas tree at one of the two local tree farms, enjoy live music, shopping, pictures with Santa, art and artisans showcase, lots of children's activities plus a lighted Christmas parade at dusk.
Bastrop Holiday Historic Home Tour and Lighted Parade
Second Saturday. Tours in the afternoon of homes and historic buildings give visitors a glimpse of Bastrop's history as volunteer docents point out highlights. The day ends with a brightly lit parade at night fall.
Bastrop's River of Lights
Extends form Friday following Thanksgiving to New Years Eve. Stroll along the June Pape Riverwalk on the Colorado River to see over 100 holiday displays.

Bastrop Second Saturday Sale-a-bration and Pine Street Market Days
April - December. Vendors and craftsmen set up boothes on Main Street and Pine Street to market their wares.
